Description: This is my extra 1967 POPEYE 'Talking' Puppet. The talking voice box and pullstring is intact, but it no longer works. Has never been 'opened' from its pouch. Pullstring just retracts in VERY fast. But, it is there and not fiddled with. Has a substitute pipe that fits his mouth just right. I forgot I even had the two pipes both puppets came with till I stumbled onto them. So, the previous photos I had not found it yet. Felt buttons were replaced by me with VINTAGE felt. I used my keeper as a guide (it has no talk box). Also made a repro SPINACH CAN sticker that looks VERY good and has clear protective spray. That was done years ago and still looks the same. Actually looks cleaner than my original (touched it up in Photoshop). Some signs of use on cloth body. Paint on hat is excellent. LOTS of photos. Some with my old phone and some with my new phone. 12" tall. Head is at least 4" wide...not like most hand puppets from the 60's. Good-sized head. Still has the tag. 1967 MATTEL Made In Hong Kong.
