Description: You are bidding on a very rare original antique engraving from an 1860s French illustrated journal. It depicts members of an arctic expedition (or at least far nothern climes) hunting polar bears. Very dramatic. There is also has a 16-inch article related to the picture that starts on the back of the print and continues on a second page (included). It is in French, but free computer translation programs make it easy to translate. The page measures approximately 10.4 x 7.5 inches (26.5 x 19 cm). The picture itself fills about half the page, and measures about 8.6 x 5.5 inches, with a French caption below. It is surrounded by unrelated text. The text could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat. The page is in excellent condition for its age. There is text/photos on the back of the print.
