Description: VINTAGE PLAYCRAFT TOYS MODEL MOTORING ELECTRIC HIGHWAYS SYSTEM SUNDRIES TRACK JOINING TOOL Estate Sale Purchase INCLUDED: One (1) excellent+ condition PLAYCRAFT toy track joining tool. This has been stored for many decades but functions & displays nicely and is 100% original. Article Number Unknown - This is part of the SUNDRIES box - Silver HIGHWAYS track joining tool. The 2nd & 3rd images shows how this tool is used to connect track sections and is for information only. You are purchasing only one (1) track joining tool. Each road section has four metal strips of high conductivity, non rusting nickel silver, two for each lane. The carry the electricity to the vehicles. Fixing holes are located at each end of the road section. These holes, together with special pins and U clips, enable the road sections to be firmly joined together. The straight and curved sections should be laid out as shown in our photos below. Make sure that the ends of the metal strips are NOT flat against the plastic. They must be bent out far enough to make contact with the strips in the next section of road. Insert two pins in each of the holes at the end of the road section and slide the next section onto the protruding ends of these pins. The straight and curved road sections must now be pulled tightly together to ensure a smooth joint and good electrical contact. The track joining tool does this by pulling them together so that you can drop a U clip into the adjacent holes. The end of the track joining tool is shaped like a screwdriver so that you can remove the U clip when you are ready to take the track to pieces.
