Description: This is the ultimate barbeque/smoker gasket kit: Included is our high temp Nomex gasket material. Nomex will not melt. Gasket dimensions are 1" x 1/8" x 15 ft long. Also included is our LavaLock RTV 3 oz, tube. This kit will not fail and will hold up under the most demanding high temperature cooking. For many years, bbq grill and smoker enthusiasts were fed up with gaskets and seals that melted & burned out. Eventually, Nomex seals hit the markets. This was a revolution in the grilling world and is the standard for high temp grilling today. However, as some enthusiasts soon found out, super high temperature searing would often cause failure of the adhesives used with Nomex gaskets. Enthusiasts have noted that LavaLock and Nomex holds up at these high temps! Installation guide: It is best to take your time when installing this kit on your BBQ/smoker/pit. It is a good afternoon project. Follow all necessary safety precautions when attempting installation. Do not operate your grill indoors or in an unsafe manner.· Clean loose debris and old gasket material from the mounting surface.· Degrease the mounting surface with a food safe degreaser. Be sure to dry the surface.· Measure and test fit the gasket. Do not cut gasket yet.·Spread LavaLock 650R3adhesive on the mounting surface. Be careful not to "over-spray" onto other areas of your grill. Press, DO NOT stretch, the gasket into place, cut any excess with a sharp scissor or razor blade. · Be sure not to get any excess adhesive on face of the gasket.· The adhesive manufacturer recommends that you air dry the adhesive at this point. We reccomend that you heat cure at 450 for 1 hour.
