Description: Pepsi:Cola has had a colorful history and its way to becoming the second biggest soft drink seller. They are number 2 and have to try harder. In 1898, a pharmacist by the name of Caleb Bradham invented a product he called "Pepsi:Cola" and got the name authorized in 1902. The name grew with franchises being set up all over. During and after WWI, sugar was at a premium. The price jumped from 3 cents to 28 cents. Bradham bought a large quantity of the sugar. That led to the downfall. Pepsi:Cola's assets were sold for $30,000. But in 1923, after the company went bankrupt, they had to re-invent themselves. Under new management, the had to do more than Coca Cola to survive. Just after 1903, the shape of the Coca Cola and Pepsi:Cola bottles were changed to this straight sided style due to they're machine made, and used until 1916. There were many variations of lettering as the place of manufacture varied. This particular bottle features that bright red, white, and blue ACL label. On this bottle, "Pepsi" and "Cola" are connected by an equal sign. You can plainly see this vertical equal sign in this bottle. This bottle was bottled by Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. of Atlanta in 1998. The bottle measures 9" tall. The bottle is in new condition. The cap is near perfect, and the bottle has no chips.
