This unique pieces a feathered blue design to top, a moulded grecian key band to middle as well as a hand painted tear drop design below. Probably made in Staffordshire or Yorkshire of glazed earthenware or what is referred to as pearlware. Unmarked. Approx 6"H X 3" W. This piece is considered pearlware vs creamware. Pearlware has a blue tinge to the glaze cause by the use of cobalt which was considered an improvement at the time. Creamware precedes Pearlware by a few years. Provenance: Prominent Private Collection Condition: Chipping and discoloration to base rim, otherwise minor imperfections to be expected. I will be listing a large Collection of early pearlware, many pieces from a private collection. Terms of Sale Please review photos closely. I try and represent items as accurately as possible.
