Description: You are bidding on one 1-3/4" iron or blade or cutter for a Stanley wood plane as pictured.The iron is marked with the later style of the STANLEY sweetheart logo (top of heart flush with bottom of the rectangle) and "MADE IN USA" below that. This would fit a Number 3 or Number 5-1/4 or similar wood plane. The iron would also work in a transitional plane.Actual width of the iron at the lower edge is about 1-3/4". Overall length of the iron is about 6-9/16". Condition of the iron is good, especially below the chip breaker "shadow" line and below the frog "shadow" line on the back side. Below that is reasonably clean with some bits of patina (color) and rust, and above that is quite a bit more patina and rust and some areas of light pitting. The iron has a bow at about the upper edge of where it sits on the frog. I don't have a chip breaker with this iron. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars?
