Description: A handsome hand painted watercolor painting by noted American marine painter Hartwell L. Woodcock (1852-1929) . The image measures 13 5/8 x 19 3/4 inches and is signed & dated in the lower left "Hart L. Woodcock 1898". The paper shows mild and even age toning in the clouds with a couple of spots, mostly evident on the reverse, otherwise the painting is in excellent condition. Hartwell Leon Woodcock (1853-1929) a native of Maine, studied under Boston portrait painter Frederick E. Wright and the Academie Colarossi in France with work exhibited at Boston's St. Botolph Club, the Boston Art Club, and the Portland Museum of Art. He is known primarily for his seascapes and depictions of Florida, the Caribbean and Bermuda.
