Ido was born in 1945 and passed away in 2016, with his name well known as a leading Japanese contemporary artist. He began working on silk and other fabrics before being inspired by other wood block prints, and finding his passion for them. He found inspiration around Kyoto and especially favored serene landscapes and traditional scenes of architecture and temples. This piece measures approximately 18 x 13 inches.
