Description: For sale is a vinyl record by Orleans titled "Let There Be Music", originally released in 1975 by Asylum Records, a subsidiary of Warner Communications, Inc. On the labels is printed (CP) on the right, underneath 7E-1029. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "SX" followed by the matrix numbers A-1/B-1, indicating that this record was mastered and laquered at Columbia Records' facility at Santa Maria, California, before the first stampers were used to make this record at Columbia Records' pressing plant at Pitman, New Jersey. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 and immediately put this album into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with this release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of corner blunts, stress cracks along the spine, ring wear, a crease across the lower right hand corner and edge rubs. The spine has color loss at the corners from blunts and in a couple of spots in the middle from rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint with some superficial sleeve marks, but otherwise with surfaces that are shiny and bright, without any surface scratches, scuffs or spindle marks on the labels. The vinyl is play graded as Near Mint with two low level pops at the end of Side two. It plays all the way through without any surface noise, skips or lock-ups from start to finish. This is still the best copy of this hard to find album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, especially a Pitman pressing. I have other Southern Rock and Roll albums, as well all records of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
