Description: Original WW2 US Army Dark Shade olive drab service trousers. These are made from 100% gabardine wool material with a brass zipper. The manufacturer's specification tag is washed out, but the size measures approximately a 36" waist and a 30" inseam. The inseam measures at 27" (see pic), but it is actually a 30" inseam due to the "high waisted" pattern of the trousers. The Dark Shade trousers were a complement to the Pinks and Greens service uniform and were often worn with the Dark Shade service coat by officers assigned to the Army Ground Forces. Steve McQueen's character in The War Lover can be seen wearing the Dark Shade trousers throughout the movie, in contrast to most other AAF pilots who can be seen wearing the Drab Shade (Pink) trousers. These are in excellent condition and would be a great addition to any WWII US Army memorabilia collector or living historian/reenactor's ensemble.
