Description: Besancon is an early French Travel poster by Henri Ganier Tanconville commissioned by the railway company known as PLM (Compagnie des chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée). The poster dates to circa 1900 and features numerous vignettes, which are indicative of travel poster designs of the time. The vignettes depict the countryside and the town of Les Brenets in Switzerland. Tanconville produced graphics for PLM for over 30 years. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters. The poster measures 30" x 42.5".
