Description: Framed original pencil drawing of Elvis Presley, signed by artist J. Smith, from 1977. The artwork measures 13.5 x 10 inches, and the frame measures roughly 15.25 x 12.25 inches. Been framed and protected, in like-new condition, since 1977. The artwork, inspired by photos from his 1972 Spring Tour, features Elvis on stage, kneeling, holding the microphone to his forehead, while wearing a studded jumpsuit with matching cape. It could very well be based on Elvis's concert at the Hampton Roads Coliseum in Hampton Roads, VA, on April 9, 1972 -- specifically the evening show. In that show, Elvis wore his Blue Nail Suit (aka the Hampton Roads suit) with a matching white cape and White Fireworks Belt. The showtime was 8:30 pm, and he played to a crowd of 10,650. This concert is featured in Elvis's last feature film, 'Elvis: On Tour,' a concert tour documentary from 1972. This was Elvis's fifth tour after the '68 comeback special, lasting from April 5th to April 19th of 1972. Elvis was particularly energetic during this concert.
