Description: Original caricature drawing of an F-100 Super Sabre pilot using his feet to stop his aircraft during a landing, presumably a humorous depiction of a real-world event. The drawing is signed “Adamski” and dated “21/1/65.” A vintage Memo Routing Slip from the artist is covered with clear plastic and taped to the frame’s paper backing. The frame measures approximately 9 7/8” x 12 5/8" and the matte opening measures approximately 4 3/4" x 7 1/2". The drawing appears to have been professionally framed. The drawing is from the estate of Richard “Bubba” Heinisch (1934 - 2018), a U.S. Air Force B-47 Stratojet Navigator/Bombardier with the 96th Bomb Wing, F-100 Super Sabre fighter pilot with the 352nd Tactical Fighter Squadron, and TWA pilot for 23 years. The drawing appears to be in very good to excellent used condition with fading, yellowing, a few “bubbles” or raised areas, smudges, spots, and stray marks. The matte appears to be in excellent used condition. The drawing and matte haven’t been examined outside of the frame. The wood frame appears to be in very good to excellent used condition with signs of wear and age, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, indentations, and some wear along the edges and corners. The paper backing is intact and appears to be in excellent used condition with signs of wear and age, such as a few spots, stray marks, and perhaps small stains. The Memo Routing Slip appears to be in good to very good used condition with signs of wear and age, such as fading, yellowing, spots, stray marks, smudges, and discoloration, marks, and/or stains, possibly from a paper clip. There are two plastic “bumper” pads attached to the back. There may also be some dust and debris particles where the glass meets the frame.
