Description: This is a vintage but unused souvenir handkerchief from the New York World's Fair of 1939! It is a white woven linen hankie measuring 12" square with a hand embroidered emblem specific to the fair: the Trylon and Perisphere geometric shapes. Here they are portrayed in bright blue and orange embroidery - very vivid against the white. Beneath them there are hand embroidered black letters saying 'World's Fair New York.' The embroidered shapes are machine done including shading to make them appear three-dimensional. The black letters are a bit wonky but are all there and clearly legible. This handkerchief is in excellent vintage condition: it is clean and crisp, with no stains or rips or funky odors. However, I found one tiny pinhole, as show in the last photo. Still, what an amazing survival - this is 84 years old! Great for your collection.
