Description: Offered is an original tearsheet of one of the classic series "He (She) Drives a Duesenberg." magazine advertisements. This one features a gentleman in morning clothes at the race track. Behind him a groom attends to a horse with the jockey mounted. We assume that the gentleman is not here to bet - he owns that horse! This is one of 8-10 such ads that ran in 1934-35 featuring very wealthy men and women at their leisure, the sort who could still afford the super-expensive Duesenberg during the height of the Great Depression, a small band indeed. Note that no car is shown. By this time the Duesenberg Model J and SJ were badly out of style and mechanically not up to date. The economy and poor sales made updating it impossible. This was Duesenberg's last ad campaign. The company would go out of business in 1937 Ad measures 9.5 x 12.5" Buyer pays $6.35 Ground postage to USA addresses. Thanks for looking!
