The map is packed with detail and locates hundreds of places and features. It is drawn on a scale of 1:6,912,000, with topography pictured in relief. Longitude is measured from Washington and Greenwich, and Sitka is identified as the capital. Among the other named places and features are Fort Selkirk, the Yukon River, Fox Islands, Senatis Village, Kenai Peninsula, White Horse Rapids, Chilkat Pass, Beaufort Bay, Point Barrow, Juneau, Norton Bay, Ahtna Village, Fort Oonalaklik, Ikogmut Mission, Kotzebue Sound, Lead Mines, Attenmut Village, Saint Elias Mountains, Porcupine River, and many hundreds more. An inset at the upper right shows the western end of the Aleutian Islands. This map was published in Cram's Universal Atlas, George F. Cram, Chicago, 1897. The image area measures 30.6 x 51 cm [12" x 20"]. Condition: It is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with vertical center fold, as issued, and no marks, rips or tears.
