Among the other named places and features are Fort Selkirk, the Yukon River, Fox Islands, Senatis Village, Kenai Peninsula, White Horse Rapids, Chilkat Pass, Beaufort Bay, Point Barrow, Juneau, Norton Bay, Ahtna Village, Fort Oonalaklik, Ikogmut Mission, Kotzebue Sound, Lead Mines, Attenmut Village, Saint Elias Mountains, Porcupine River, and many hundreds more. An inset at the upper right shows the western end of the Aleutian Islands. This map was published in Cram's Universal Atlas, George F. Cram, Chicago, 1897. The image area measures 30.6 x 51 cm [12" x 20"]. Condition: It is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with vertical center fold, as issued, and no marks, rips or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. This is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. It offers a look at Alaska just prior to the Klondike Gold Rush. It would make a handsome display in your den or office. It would also make a perfect gift, and we'll include our helpful framing tips for your reference, along with a photocopy of the dated title page from the book in which it was published. There are single-page maps of the Eastern and Northern Hemispheres on the reverse side. Following the discovery of gold near the Klondike River in Canada's Yukon Territory this map was used in subsequent printings with red overprints showing routes to the Klondike Gold Fields.
