About the Shturmanskie Gagarin S(h)turmanskie (Штурманские ) watches were specially produced by the 1st Moscow Watch Factory for Soviet Air Force pilots (Военно-Воздушные Силы ) and were never available for the open market, nor for sale in the military stores (Voentorgs). The movement was based on the Pobeda (Победа) K-26 movement and produced with LIPs R-25 equipment, which was bought in France. A 15 jewel version was produced from 1949 to 1954. The first watch, worn by USSR cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. It was due to this event that the 1st Moscow Watch Factory was renamed to Poljot (Полет), which means Flight.
