Also included is a hand typed 20th century copy which is exactly word for word as the original and identifies the author as John Duyckinck at Lemington, N.J. John Duyckinck (1800–1876) was a key figure in 19th-century American literature and publishing. Alongside his brother Evert, he fostered literary culture in New York City, promoting writers like Washington Irving and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Their "Cyclopaedia of American Literature" (1855) was a pioneering effort in documenting American literary history. Duyckinck's work as a bookseller and publisher also helped establish American literature in the publishing industry, shaping the nation's cultural identity. Rarely found, this is the sole known copy of the work. There are no other instances of the book available for sale, no auction records, and no copies held by institutions.
