I decided to size up, just to make sure I could wear thicker socks with these. So I am selling these before wearing. I would think these would fit size 5 through a larger 6, almost a 6.5, depending on how wide your foot is, and how you plan to wear them. I could make them work with tights. But I wanted to make sure I could wear socks with them so I sized up to the next size. These have not been worn except around the house to break in for an hour once, although to be honest, they feel pretty good on my feet without much breaking in. I don't have a really wide foot but I don't have a really slender one either, so I was surprised that I could get into what is supposed to be a 5 in US size. If you're uncertain about whether they will fit I recommend checking the Dr Martens website or check a Reddit thread, because people discuss in detail how they fit! These would be great for an older kid who doesn't want to wear boring shoes for dress occasions. They are very versatile. And they are genuine leather and very pretty.
