Description: For sale is one new-old-stock, second-grade/blemished*: Montblanc Bohème Steel Noir Fountain Pen, Medium Nib, MPN 06537 (25161); made in Germany and France. Complete with Service Guide, Gift-Case, and Outer Box. *Condition Notes: 1) New-old-stock display model with moderate handling wear, hairline cracks at the threads, and blemishing to the nib. Nib designation sticker is still intact. Includes demonstration cartridge. 2) Handling wear is limited to subtle wisps. All plating is intact. 3) Thread cracks are aesthetic and stable. These cracks are very common with this line due to the section being threaded into the resin at the barrel. The section threads are metal, whereas the barrel threads are resin; the combination of dissimilar materials and close tolerances likely leads to these cracks due to thermal expansion. It is also common if the nib has been replaced. Most people don't even know these cracks are present, but it's something I know to check for and disclose. 4) Nib has subtle ripple effect and surface marks at the very base on the left side. Effect does not capture on camera but is apparent to the naked eye. This may or may not indicate that the nib is a replacement or was otherwise serviced. Remainder of nib is excellent. 5) Clip does not align with nib when posted. When viewed from the rear, the clip aligns at about 7 o'clock, which may interfere with some hands. Unfortunately, this is a common issue with the Bohème that can occur even with perfect pens over time. A special tool is required to reset the clip position that your local boutique might not have given that these pens are discontinued. The tool seems to be a form of external Torx (nut driver, not bit), which needs to be fairly deep so well has hollow to clear the safety pin. I am trying to source a suitable tool and will fix it in the meantime if possible; but this has proven difficult so please be advised that you could be stuck with this issue unless you send the pen off for service. 6) Box has some foxing on the white foam from humidity. Service guide has some scuffing from insertion. The Bohème Steel Noir Fountain Pen features luxurious design and expert craftsmanship that is distinctively Montblanc. It is constructed from stainless-steel with a polished finish. The section is black precious-resin. Details are platinum-coated, while the clip is accented by a glittering onyx gemstone.
