Description: "Nineteen Eighty-Four" by George Orwell. Published in hardback by Secker and Warburg in 1965. Reprint. 318pp. The book is in Good Plus condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no bowing present although the book exhibits a moderate shelf lean. The boards are clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is still readable. The page edge blocks are evenly tanned from age and have a few light spots on them (see scan). Internally the book is clean and presentable and appears to be inscription, annotation and foxing free. There are a couple of small dried liquid stains to the first couple of pages. NOTE: There is a suspicion that the book may be an ex-library copy as there is the residue of something having been removed from the front pastedown and the front endpaper is missing (see scan). However, I could not find any other evidence such as stamps, etc to be definitive as to earlier provenance. The dustjacket is a facsimile reproduction of the original Secker and Warburg First Edition of this title which looks really smart. This dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Any questions, please just ask.
