The stamp has been lightly hinged. Background To Issue: The 6d value features the Kiwi, the species of flightless birds endemic to New Zealand. Kiwis are about the size of a domestic chicken and all species are endangered. The kiwi is a national symbol of New Zealand. This value was changed to red in later printings so is often referred to as the green or red kiwi.
