Scarves are cumbersome for skiing and cycling/biking; they become unraveled and whip you in the face. My double-layer design is the warmest, softest, and most unrestrictive neck warmer you will find. I recommend it over a bulky-wrapped scarf on a cold day. I make mine from super soft, synthetic polyester fleece that offers breathable, moisture-wicking performance and coziness to keep you warm and dry. I prewash the fabric before cutting the pattern to remove any dust or debris from the factory. Polyester Fleece is a lightweight, warm, and strong pile fabric meant to mimic and in some ways surpass wool, having some of wool's finest qualities but weighing a fraction of the lightest available woolens--a great alternative for people who are allergic to wool, or those with sensitive skin. Also considered to be more environmentally friendly than wool as it is often made from recycled plastic bottles, and is a vegan-friendly alternative to wool. Fleece is also water-repellent, making it quick to dry and warm even when wet.
