His first works, in the 1970s, stood at the crossroads of conceptural art, minimal art and the tradition of modern sculpture. Afterwards, the photographical documentation of his own work became more and more significant, until it became an entire aspect of it, photographs and sculptures responding to each other and generating new works all the while. (Wikipedia)Jan Debbaut (born 1949 in Temse, Belgium) is an art historian by training. Currently he works as a professor in curatorial studies at the Art History department at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) and chair of CCS Ghent (the Center for Curatorial Studies at KASK in Gent). (HISK website) Sabra Moore (born January 25, 1943) is an American artist, writer, and activist. Her artwork is based on re-interpreting family, social, and natural history through the form of artist's books, sewn and constructed sculptures and paintings, and installations. (Wikipedia) The Artists Call campaign was started by a transnational group of artists in NYC in 1984, using public demonstrations, film, art exhibitions, mail art, performances, and poetry readings to protest U.S. military interventions in Central America. More than 1,100 artists too part, representing a political statement against the longstanding history of U.S. intervention in Central America. (University of New Mexico Art Museum)
