Description: LONG WAVE UV This is a freshly broken open Nepheline Syenite "Yooperlite" rock with a nice amount of fluorescent orange Sodalite. Nice clean surfaces showing good sized mineral grains including some sharp black Hornblende and Albite Feldspar with blue iridescent schiller like like seen on Moonstone. The blue schiller can bee seen by rotating the piece under good light slowly. I break many of these to get a look at a fresh interior to examine the minerals under high magnification. Fluoresces under long wave UV (Convoy S2 recommended, I have some in my store) Collected in Milwaukee County Wisconsin along the Lake Michigan shoreline. 446 grams. 3-3/4" length. NOTE! I use a ConvoyS2 LONG WAVE 365nm UV flashlight with a band pass filter installed for finding these and the photos, you will need one as well to see the fluorescence as nicely as seen in photos.
