Author Biography Charlene Rothkopf held a variety of corporate human resource positions with a global, multinational hospitality company, where she provided leadership to the health and welfare benefits department and led the implementation of the companys first corporate wellness program. Charlene then served as the senior human resource executive at a leading, publicly held, real estate development company. Her lengthy journey as a patient navigating the healthcare system led her to pursue a coaching certificate from the Maryland University of Integrative Health and to establish the Wellness Consulting Group, LLC, an executive coaching and consulting firm specializing in executive and leadership development and organizational health and well-being. As a volunteer, Charlene has served as the colead of the Patient and Family Advisory Council for a major hospital system with the goal of bringing the patients voice to hospital operations. She currently resides in suburban Maryland, where she enjoys playing golf with her husband of over fifty years and spending time with her grandchildren. Z. Colette Edwards, MD, MBA, has been active in most segments of the healthcare arena, including, first and foremost, as a practicing gastroenterologist. She has leveraged additional training in health and wellness coaching at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and in health equity as a member of the NIH Scholars Program in translational health disparities. Over the course of her career, she has served in a variety of roles in her quest to make a difference in the lives, health, and well-being outcomes of patients. They include being theassociate medical director of a multispecialty group practice and serving in health plan medical roles. Her work has also encompassed positions at two Fortune 50 companies, including as the national medical lead for health disparities, with an initiative that won a national innovation award and as a corporate medical executive for employee health and wellbeing, with a multiyear record of national awards won by the team: NBGH Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles, top 10ranking in the "Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America," Gold status in the AHAs Workplace Health Achievement Index, and a citation for Excellence in Mental Health.
