Description: Navajo Folk Art Chicken - with hanging cordSmall Navajo chicken - can be hung (like on a Christmas tree or car mirror) - or will sit on its own. It has a tail made of thin strips of corn husk. Painted barn red with mauve/pink squiggles/stacked Ss/snakes?? I purchased this at Tuba City's open "Market Day" - Tuba City is on the Navajo Nation in Arizona. I got it in the late 1990's for resale in my then physical store (now closed). It has never been used. Was purchased at height of the Navajo folk art phase - when these Navajo painted wooden chickens were elevated from children's toys to art. (do not remember artist)This is 3" high to top of wooden tail - corn husks are another 1.25" so - 4.25" overall height. 1.25" from beak tip to back of wooden tail and 1" diameter bottom. Green sparkly cord is 3.5" from center top of loop to chicken's head. If you purchase more than 1 item from me... put all items in cart and wait to pay for all at 1 time.
