Rainbows in smoky quartz, also known as "inclusions rainbows," are caused by the scattering and refraction of light as it interacts with these microscopic imperfections. When light passes through the crystal and encounters these inclusions, it gets diffracted, creating a beautiful play of colors similar to a rainbow. Natural crystals, minerals, and rocks that come from the earth may have fissures, inclusions, or slight "imperfections". I do my best to describe, photograph, and video each item accurately.
