Description: This pretty pot or vase was hand made and features an etched bear with mountains in the background on one side and a geometric design on the other. The colors range from a rich burnt orange to a dark black brown. The bottom has etched into it “BEAR Little Diné 2006”. “Bear” I assume to denote the subject matter of the vase and 2006 for the year created. From doing some research, I found that the Navajo tribe often prefer to call themselves DIné - it the Navajo word for “the people”. So the literal translation on the bottom is “little Navajo people (or person)”. There are no chips, cracks or scratches. There are a couple of areas with some “brushing” that has left a white mark - see photos 5, 8 & 9 for details). It did not sip off with a damp cloth. Measures 3.75” tall and 3.5” in diameter at the widest part. Please look at photos carefully as they are part of the items' description. If you have any questions please ask before you purchase. Shipping prices reflect the extra time, care and packing material needed to make sure your purchase arrives at your home undamaged. In some cases, weight and distance can be a factor - shipped from Florida. I try to use recycled packing material whenever possible. The package is not pretty sometimes, but it works!
