Description: Imperial Arranged 511810-50 "National Emblem" Bagley player piano roll. Arranged by Robert Lytton. "National Emblem," also known as the National Emblem March, is a U.S. march composed by Edwin Eugene Bagley in 1902 and published in 1906. It became popular due to its distinctive melody, and the U.S. military uses the trio section of the march as ceremonial music for the color guard when presenting and retiring the colors. The march has been a staple in the repertoire of American military bands and has been featured in various films. In 1960, a rock and roll arrangement of the march was recorded by a group of studio musicians and became a minor hit, reaching #53 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The roll is in playable condition. See photos for condition. I am not sure of the age of this roll, but looks to be at least from pre-1940.
