Nashville Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway E7A #780, Ceramic Coffee Mug

Description: Electro-Motive Division (EMD) E7A #780 of the Nashville Chattanooga & St. Louis. This mug features the original herald plate design which was replaced fairly quickly due to it blocking access through the nose door. The locomotive was assigned to the Georgian which was a jointly operated (with L&N) passenger train that ran between St. Louis and Atlanta in the middle part of the 20th century. The last leg of its journey, from Nashville to Atlanta, was on the NC&StL. ---------- My mugs feature original illustrations that are all based on actual locomotives. I strive to be as accurate as possible with each one, whether it's the location of grab-irons, or unique details such as a bent door handle. Coming from a model train background, I like to think of it as precision modeling… on a coffee mug. All mugs are produced by me personally using a process called sublimation printing, where the image is "baked" into the surface. This makes for a finish that is much more durable and scratch-resistant than just a surface print or paint. While they are very durable, they can be scratched by hard metal edges.
