Description: Narex Premium Woodworking Chisels This Premium line of Narex woodworking chisels has a slimmer cross section than the Profi (Professional) line with Beech handles. Primary bevels are ground at 25 degrees. Blades are 4 5/8" to 6 1/2" long. Handles are stained European Hornbeam and are 5 1/2” long. Overall sizes range in length from 9 7/8” to 12”.Widths are available from 6 mm to 50 mm. Blades have well-seated heavy steel tangs. Handles have a solid brass ferrule to withstand vigorous mallet work. These chisels are an excellent value in a good quality tool. These chisels are made by Narex Bystrice in the Czech Republic. Narex is a highly respected tool manufacturer and has been making exceptional quality edge tools for over 95 years. The blades are made from fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to Rc 59. The blades take and hold an excellent edge. The blades are forged, hardened and then accurately ground on modern CNC grinding machines. In the August 2008 issue of Fine Woodworking Magazine (FWW), Narex chisels earned Author’s Choice for “Best Value” in the western style bench chisel category.
