There's nothing like brother/sister pairs especially when they are this nice. Both came from original owners, were rarely used out and were never exposed to smoke of any kind. From my experience the early 90's represent one of the Golden Eras for Music Man basses. Maybe it was a combination of aged woods, happy workers and new tooling but there is definitely magic here! I can't tell you how many trans teal and honeyburst Stingrays like this one that I have hunted down in the past 30 years with not a dud among them. I'm talking about the ones that have the serial number stamped on the bridge like this one, and not on the neck plate. They are money in the bank if you are a player & collector. The finish on the body is free of marks, dings or scuffs and it's obvious this bass was babied all its life. There's no pickguard wear and none on even the pickup cover for that matter. But clearly, this bass was meant to be played because it truly delivers the goods. The alnico pickup has the growl of the early BOO Stingrays but it's a bit more refined with the 3-band EQ. The slim profile neck is much more stable than those early ones and the frets show essentially zero wear. Very nice rosewood fretboard, too. All the hardware is chrome with the tuners being nickel-plated. Weighs in at just 8 1/2 lbs and comes with the molded Music Man hard case with form-fit interior that offers maximum protection.
