Description: Murray Carter Damascus Yanagiba This is a one off, one of a kind knife made by Murray Carter. It is the only one like it and one of the most expensive knives he has ever made! The blade is made from Shiro-ko and Ao-ko (white and blue) damascus steel. The blade is entirely hand forged and sharpened with a custom handle and saya. The blade has a very beautiful and subtle damascus pattern that is completely unique. There is damascus on the backside (ura) of the blade which is very unique for a kata-ha (single-edged) knife. The handle is made from 100 year old Sonoran Desert Ironwood with real mammoth "bone" ferrule and end cap. There is a nickel bolster where the blade meets the handle and the saya is made from solid Ironwood. The knife was only used about three times in total. This is a collectors piece that you will never see again! Specs: overall length: 465mm blade length: 295mm handle length:154mm blade width: 35mm blade thickness: 5mm (near the bolster), 3mm (middle), 1.5mm (tip) blade material: Hitachi white and blue steels, hand forged handle material: Desert Ironwood, mammoth "bone" If you have any questions let me know.
