Moment Bibby Pros are mythical in their reputation and are known for being "forgiving chargers." If you're a strong, savvy skier who doesn't mind a heavy ski, and who loves to charge western-style terrain in all types of conditions-- these skis will surprise you with their maneuverability. They are ridiculously stable and have a near-supernatural capacity for smoothing out cement and heavy, chopped-up snow. They can charge all but the deepest powder without tip dive. They can even hold an impressive edge on groomers (but if that's all you're doing, they make better skis for that). Yes, you can also take these Bibbys into the backcountry-- I dragged them on some long volcano ascents in Northern California before I knew any better. It's doable... but please don't. What I do wholeheartedly recommend the Bibbys for is aggressive, big mountain charging, all-mountain downhill, and side-country laps at western resorts. They are big, heavy skis, yet can easily dash through trees and charge menacing lines at places like Kirkwood. However, they would not be my first choice in Northeastern woods, not even in northern Vermont on a powder day, but that's just me. Despite their size and weight, I never felt tossed around by them (I'm 5'9, 175 lbs), and I always felt like I could ski the most challenging snow conditions with impunity. They really are a blast. These skis have been down mountains throughout California, Oregon, Colorado, and even New Hampshire on the heaviest of powder days. They wear some scars, but they still perform flawlessly. All the major repairs (core shot included) are from pre-2015 and remain solid and intact after all these years. The edges are still strong and straight, too. Now that I'm back in the Northeast (and in my 40s), I've decided to move toward a more narrow all-mountain ski suitable for places like Vermont and New Hampshire. It's time for me to let go of these powerful, yet strangely agile boards, so another skier can take up the mantle! If you're interested, message me and we can chat. I'm open to offers and compromise.
