MERRYTHOUGHT Mohair Panda 14" EXCLUSIVE to HONG KONG Animal Kingdom 101/500

Description: I am this panda's original owner. This auction is only for the larger panda pictured on the left. The smaller, Merrythought Cheeky Beanie Panda is listed in a separate auction. This is an exceptionally rare Merrythought mohair panda. He was only available through Animal Kingdom Ltd. shop in Hong Kong in the year 2000, model number KZ14KN. It was to commemorate the arrival of two pandas (On On and Jia Jian) from mainland China to Ocean Park, Hong Kong. I was such an avid panda collector, I phoned the shop directly and purchased him. I still have the International Collector's Club Newsletter and business card, along with our faxed correspondence. He is a beautiful dense black and off white mohair, is 14" long and was limited to only 500 pieces. Mine is 101/500. His head, arms and legs are all jointed. He has amber glass eyes and a black embroidered nose and mouth. His paw pads are black wool/felt. He wears a black and gold gingham ribbon/bow. His cloth tag is hand numbered (101/500) and corresponds with his hang tag/certificate of authenticity. He has the cloth Merrythought label on his right foot. Everything about hi is pristine/mint. He was never displayed. I recently moved to a new house and in moving boxes that had been stored away, I discovered a treasure trove of my beautiful pandas I had completely forgotten about. As I am settling in to my new home, I am downsizing the collection. It's certainly pointless to keep such beautiful bears stored away. So I'd like to see them go to a good home with someone who can enjoy them on a daily basis. I have so many beautiful pandas from Steiff, Hermann, Clemens, Grisly, Merrythought, Deans, Martin Bears, Annette Funicello, Knickerbocker, Ganz, Mutzli, Raikes.
