Merit Student Encyclopedia Complete Set w/Dictionaries Green/Gold Hardcover '69

Book Dimensions: 11"(h) x 8.d"(d), 31.5", just over 2.5' of shelf space needed. Included: Volumes 1 - 20 plus 2 volume(A - Z) dictionary. (22 volumes total) This is a rare complete set. This set was purchased from an Antique dealer roughly 12 years ago. The set has been stored in our book case for all 12 years, seldom removing any books from the shelf. We are moving out of state and have decided on parting with the encyclopedias. The set comes from a smoke and pet free household. Condition: Overall, this set is in very nice condition! While flipping through each volume, I only noticed three volumes to note. Volume 1 and 3 each have a blemish/tiny stain on first and second page. Volume 16 has a blemish on the very front of the hardcover. These three noted blemishes are pictured in photos, 11-15. Again, overall the set is in quite nice vintage condition - what you would expect from a well kept set that is almost 60 years old. Page edges have some foxing(tanning) due to age, including yellowing to the outer edges of the pages. Some fading of some lettering on spines of a few volumes. (see pics for a closer look at condition). The last two photos show an example of how neat and well done the illustrations are in these 1969 Merit encyclopedia’s. The photos are from Volume 16. They used a film over Rome to illustrate what it looked like then and now. Each book weighs approximately 3lbs 10oz, with all 20 that comes to 72.5 Pounds!
