Description: Presented is a wonderful quality silver plated sugar bowl made by Meriden Britannia Company. The sugar bowl is done in the desirable Assyrian Head pattern which was first produced in 1887. The sugar bowl has a beautiful band of raised decoration around the middle depicting the heads of classical figures interspersed with fancy flowers, scrolls and leaves. The sugar bowl is marked on the underside with Meriden B. Company, Quadruple Plate. I believe Rogers Brothers also made this exact pattern, although this piece is stamped by Meridian Britannia Company. These companies were interrelated. The sugar bowl is in great condition overall. There is some wear to the silver plating. There is one dent around the widest part of the body as we have shown in the photos. There are also some smaller dents and dings here and there. There are no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. The sugar bowl measures 7 1/2 inches wide across the handles and 3 7/8 inches.
