Navy leather covered boards with vellum and navy leather title patch on spine. Gilt vertical divider strip between navy and vellum on front and back boards. Author's logo blind-stamped on front panel. Upper external page edges are gilt. External side pages are untrimmed and several are unopened. Back corner on upper edge at head of board spine is rubbed and with a 1/8" closed tear, tail of board spine has horizontal crease along the edge. Shadow transfer on front paste down. Small bookseller's label also on front paste down. Book is internally clean and snug. Slip case has shallow scuffs on front and back panels along with a few small white stains.
