Mattel Hot Wheels Vintage Sizzlers - FAT TRACK Sets

Sale includes the following items - 1. Extended "8" boxed set. Pieces are mint, but close inspection reveals at least one use. Box is open. Has all parts including original car (blue #7). Car shows no visible paint loss and is untested. Many parts still in plastic but are unsealed. Box condition is "almost store new." Complete with original unused, factory fresh, Power Pump. 2. Big "O" boxed set. Pieces are mint, but close inspection reveals at least one use. Box is open. Has all parts except originally included car. Parts in original plastic but are unsealed. Box condition is "almost store new." Complete with original unused, factory fresh, Juice Machine with UNAPPLIED decals and instructions still in factory sealed plastic. Decals have been graded as C-9.6. 3. Four Sizzlers cars (2007 vintage) in unopened, factory sealed containers. Even though these are new-old-stock (NOS), the battery condition is unknown and not guaranteed to be fully functional. Cars pictured are actual models included. 4. Two (2) 2007 vintage PowerPits in original, opened boxes including original cars (orange #7s). Cars have slight paint loss due to use and are untested. Each car has its lap counter bracket and antenna. PowerPit units do not show evidence of battery leakage, but are untested. Decals are fresh and bright with no peeling. Boxes have been graded as C-9.0 and C-9.3. They contain about 50% of original cardboard inserts. Units will be re-packaged with after-market wrap for shipping. One version has instruction sheet graded C-9.3. 5. 1970 vintage Lap Computer in original box (USA manufacture) with all original parts including the 12 antenna mounting brackets (there are actually 13) AND the 12 antennas (three were removed from molding frame and are included.) Box has been graded as C-9.4. Contains all original inserts including warranty/registration card (perforations intact) and 1971 Catalogue. Insert material has weak folds from factory packaging. Decal sheet has NOT been applied and has been graded at C-9.8. Unit entry ramp has original, unrepaired spring in working order. Lap Computer unit has been lightly used and graded as C-9.3 due to slight color dings from car collisions. These are minor. Unit is fully functional. 6. (not pictured) Special mystery extras for the buyer. Items are Mattel Hot Wheels. You'll be more than pleasantly surprised. Explanation - This was a miracle find as the estate believed the pieces had been disposed of. According to the adult children, the two sets were combined and used around the Christmas tree instead of a train and, were at most, used three times (as best as they could remember.) After each Christmas, the toy was carefully re-packed and kept in a humidity and temperature-controlled basement (there is evidence of Christmas wrapping on the Big "O" box). They recall the Lap Computer being used only once. Inspection suggests the Lap Computer box opened due to glue failure on the flap as there is no evidence of pulling or tearing. A toy expert commented that the last time she saw a Lap Computer in this condition was 2008 (on eBay.) We trust the evaluation but can't represent that comment as being substantiated fact. Nowhere we've seen in the past year offers a complete, reconfigurable set-up, in this boxed condition, given the two sets. With 1970's cars becoming scarce or expensive, without a track and a way to power them, they're not complete as a toy, even if they aren't played with. The appeal of Sizzler's was the "fat track". Cars could pass each other on either side. For years, it was single or double-lane orange strips. Fat Track was the alternative to expensive slot-car racing. Having a complete Sizzler's set is less common than you think. If you wish high-res close-up photos or specific information, please send a note. Buyer will be notified as to how many boxes to expect. The stated grading criteria is based on the industry "C" scale (5.0 - 10.0) where 5.0 is "recognizable" and 10.0 is flawless. Anything above 8.5 is considered "collectible". All stated grades are estimates and other reviewers may reach a different conclusion as to the precise grade. All other comments are the opinion of the seller. Items are of original manufacture and have not been cleaned, restored, or otherwise modified except for stated wear.
