Description: This is a vintage 1 gallon oil can of Marvel Mystery Oil "Diesel Fuel Only", perfect for collectors of gas and oil memorabilia. The can is an original piece from the 1960s, making it a rare find for any collector. A little history about this particular item.... my uncle was a NAPA Parts Dealer and gas station owner and he came up with the idea to turn these 1 gallon metal cans with the easy-pour spout into gas or diesel cans. He did it for cans other than Marvel, but he only used Marvel for the diesel cans because of the oil residue. NAPA lied the idea so much they started to use it with other dealers and printed the labels free of charge and sent them to dealers. It was an early repurposing of something that most stations just threw away. They truck drivers and farmers (as most had diesel equipment) in our area loved these. This is one of the early conversions of the diesel cans.... and a great display piece.
