Description: Martz, Marshall Studios SMALL Cocobolo Wood Lamp Finial, Danish Modern Style. Finial is handturned out of Cocobolo Rosewood(Dalbergia Retusa) from Nicaragua. Wood grows in a narrow range and is more colorful and figured than Mexican Cocobolo. Wood is on Cites Red List which means it can no longer be imported in or out of country and is getting really hard to find and really expensive. Finial length is 37 mm(roughly 1.45 inches) and diameter is 37 mm(roughly 1.45 inches. Solid brass insert with 1/4-27 threads per inch. Standard harp screw thread. Finial was sanded from 100 grit through 1000 grit and then polished on polishing lathe with carnuba wax. No spray finish to peel.Labor intensive to sand and polish. This auction is for one. Colors and figure will have slight variations even though they are from same billet. Really shiny, but not tacky and very smooth to touch. You will not be disappointed.
