Description: Mainzer - Eugen Hartung Cats Postcard 4743 - Copyright by Max Kunzli, Zurich 6/35 - The Doubles Tennis Match Printed in Switzerland Originally issued by Max Kunzli in Europe in the late 1940s, this copy bears the second Alfred Mainzer publishing address that appears on the Kunzli series and is from a printing run of Eugen Hartung's original artwork in the mid-1950s. Hartung would rework this scene in the late 1950s with the mixed doubles partners moving from the clay courts to a table tennis match. The revised version was issued as Mainzer card catalog number 4896, and reissued in the 1980s in the "Printed in Spain" and "Printed in Turkey" series as Mainzer card catalog number 4716. Condition is very good.
