The custom port is chamfered on the inner edge of the valve side to smooth air-flow. The inside diameter is .150" to match the ports on the 3677/3622 models. This is the diameter where the FPS/FPE peaks, then starts to drop as you get closer to .156" and continues to drop as you go larger from there. Ports larger than .150" only become necessary with ammo above 35 grains and/or above .25 caliber. Enlarging your barrel port to .150" is recommended to get the full benefit of using this transfer port, otherwise the gain is smaller. In an otherwise factory model, the gain is a few percent more FPS but that increases to a larger percent as you make further power modifications like boring-out the valve inlet to allow a larger volume of air to move through, using a stronger hammer-spring like our .042" wire-diameter version and using a longer 24" 2260, Discovery or 26" Maximus barrel.
