Description: I assembled this tool kit over several years of individual, purchases from Geological Enterprises, certainly the most respected of American scientific supply houses, and was delighted when several of the pieces that I had purchased over a period of time were clearly related to each other geologically and mineralogically.. This collection of artifacts comes from the same area, around Spiennes, Belgium, and was dated by GE at 500,000 years old. This puts it at the top end of the lower Acheulean. The flint it’s chipped from is a luxurious chocolate brown, The scraper has wonderful carbonate growths that only happen from thousands of years of exposure to earth and water , the proof of its authenticity and age, and there is a rare point, a 500,000 year hunting or drilling point.All together, this ancient tool kit is an excellent educational tool and a wonderful way to expand or begin an artifact collection.
