A typical china doll features a glazed porcelain head with painted molded hair and a body made of cloth. The hands, faces, and feet of these dolls are made of glazed porcelain, with painted hair on their heads. The bodies are soft, but the dolls are quite stiff and designed to stand rather than sit. Both dolls are dressed in beautifully done prairie-style calico outfits. The clothing is in excellent condition with no rips, tears, or holes. The faces and hands of the dolls have some crazing, adding to their vintage charm. These dolls are often considered folk art and may also be referred to as Ozark or country dolls. While I am unsure of their exact age, I believe them to be vintage, as I purchased them from a sale of antique and vintage items.
