Description: The Leotax K camera, serial number 59436, was manufactured in Japan in 1955-56. The camera is based on the more advanced Leotax T model, which in turn is a direct copy of the Leica IIIf. The camera does not have a slow shutter speed mechanism, which is now considered more of an advantage than a disadvantage, as the absence of a complex additional mechanism makes the camera more reliable. This camera has been thoroughly inspected, partially disassembled, and cleaned.Externally, the camera is in very good condition, with no significant signs of use or damage. The body is covered in genuine leather.The original shutter curtain is in good condition, without holes or cracks.Shutter speeds have been electronically tested. Most speeds work within +/- 5% of the nominal values. Speeds 1/250 and 1/500 run slower by about half a stop. This is typical for cameras from this period.The camera’s flange focal distance has been properly adjusted. The Tppcor 3.5/50 lens is built on the Tessar optical scheme. The glass is free of damage. The focus ring moves smoothly and easily. There is no oil on the aperture blades. The set includes the camera, lens, lens cap, and case.
