A very rare Glashütte pocket watch in this excellent condition with a snap-open lid and engine turmed case. It has obviously spent most of its 120-year existence well protected in a safe. Guilloché a-goutte 14k gold Hunter case in the case shape “Lucia”, without any inscriptions. German gold mark and the Lange und Söhne hallmark on all lids. The case is in excellent, mint condition. Two-part enamel dial with recessed, small, off-center seconds and Arabic numerals. The dial is signed. Original blued steel spade hands. The dial and hands are in excellent condition. Exquisite ¾ plate movement, caliber 41/18''' lines, grained, gilt and signed. Glashütte quality movement with 15 jewels and gold screw compensation balance. Swanneck fine adjustment. Blued Breguet balance spring, gold anchor and gold escape wheel. Blued screws. Ratchet wheels with double sunburst finish according to Grossmann. Crown winding. The extremely clean, as-new movement runs flawlessly. Diameter 51.5 mm, weight 85 g. The movement and case numbers are identical with the number 50 524; the watch was sold to the watchmaker Hermann Schwarz in Leipzig on February 12, 1901 for 237 Reichsmark The watch comes with the original Lange & Söhne leather case with guarantee certificate and certificate from the German Watch Museum in Glashütte. Overall, the watch is in excellent and probably unworn condition. The leather case has age-related wear. Watchmaker Hermann Schwarz was based at Universitätsstraße 3 in Leipzig. brand:A.
