The world famous Birch Aquarium at Scripps is just up the street as well as the University of California San Diego UCSD. The sand is very course and thick. There is approximately 2 tablespoons (tbsp) or 30 milliliters (ml) in each 2x3 bag. Great purchase to add to your collection of minerals, sand, gravel, rocks, pebbles or other geological items.
